About

Chong Xu is a Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor at the National Institute of Natural Hazards, Ministry of Emergency Management of China, and Director of the Key Laboratory of Compound and Chained Natural Hazards Dynamics (MEM). He is also a Distinguished Professor under the "Tianchi Talents" Program at Xinjiang University. His research interests center on compound and chained natural hazards, with particular emphasis on the mechanisms, evolution processes, and dynamic coupling of earthquake- and rainfall-induced geological hazards, including landslides, debris flows, and large-scale collapse events. Dr. Xu is Editor-in-Chief of npj Natural Hazards. He has published more than 500 peer-reviewed papers with over 20,000 citations, and holds more than 100 authorized invention patents and software copyrights.
